A delegation from the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), led by its Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, has paid a condolence visit to the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board (PWB), Alhaji Faruku Musa Enabo, over the recent fire incident at his residence in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the statement by the Head of Information and Communication of the Board, Faruku Umar, the delegation, which was received by Alhaji Faruku Musa Enabo, expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Kebbi PWB Chairman and his family over the unfortunate incident.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Alhaji Aliyu Musa prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to replace the losses with better and to safeguard the Chairman, his family, and all Muslim Ummah against future calamities.

In his response, Alhaji Faruku Musa Enabo expressed profound gratitude to the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for the show of brotherhood and support during this trying moment.

He noted that the visit was a demonstration of the strong bond and collaboration that exists between pilgrims welfare institutions across the Northwest and the country at large.

Bilateral Discussion on Hajj 2026

While in Birnin Kebbi, the Sokoto delegation and their Kebbi counterparts also utilized the opportunity to hold discussions on matters of mutual interest, particularly preparations for the 2026 Hajj operation.

The deliberations focused on strengthening inter-state collaboration in areas including:

●Early commencement of pilgrims registration and enlightenment

●Harmonization of strategies for airlift operations

●Exchange of ideas on pilgrims welfare and service delivery in Saudi Arabia

●Joint approaches to address emerging challenges ahead of Hajj 2026

Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to working closely to ensure a hitch-free and successful Hajj 2026 for pilgrims from Sokoto and Kebbi States, in line with the guidelines of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The visit ended with prayers for peace, safety, and divine guidance for all intending pilgrims and officials involved in the Hajj exercise.
