The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Commissioner of Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services (PRSILS), Professor Abubakar A. Yagawal today led his Medical Committee on Oversight Function In Makkah where they visited the two approved Clinics.
The path finding aimed at getting all the challenges entangling health service delivery in order to address them squarely. The Commission wants to have the most standard medical system delivered to the Nigerian 2025 Hajj Pilgrims, while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prior to the outing, the committee met in the Commissioner’s office and developed a Supervisory Checklist that involves the following categories: General environmental sanitation, consulting rooms, staff rationing, infection prevention procedures, EMR system effectiveness and efficiency, Patients’ admission/referral process, drugs dispensing methods, medical consumables records keeping, health education materials availability of required equipment in ambulances all these as it affects Nigerian Pilgrims coming for 2025 Hajj.
The interaction between all segments of the Medical Team was positive as all are focusing on effecting positive changes to a sustainable medical services delivery to the Guests of Allah.
The Board member representing Federal Ministry of Health Dr. Sa’ed Dumbulwa said the primary objective of the tour is to search for the reality on ground and respond to the needs of the medical team in order to take it to the next level of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness as NAHCON Chairman/CEO stated while mandating the committee with the assignment and as reinstated by the PRSILS Commissioner that he wants to dig out the issues in order to apply viable solutions for effective Pilgrimage of our Nation and people who deserves the best, that’s why our Committee was tasked and equipped with relevant professionals in the field of Public Health.
